🛶 Jessica Fox
Jessica Fox moved from Marseille to Penrith with her family at four and developed through the local canoeing community. Her parents, Richard Fox and Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, brought extensive international paddling experience, with her mother becoming a central coaching influence. Jessica won Olympic canoe gold at Tokyo and both canoe and kayak gold at Paris in 2024, after earlier medals at London and Rio. Penrith’s whitewater setting belongs to the sustained training behind those results. The family background supplied expertise, but the increasingly exacting competition still required years of individual practice, recovery and technical refinement.
🥇 Noemie Fox
Noemie Fox followed a Penrith Valley canoeing pathway before winning kayak-cross gold on her Olympic debut at Paris in 2024. Qualification came only shortly before the Games, after a decisive World Cup result in Prague. The new Olympic event required navigating gates and direct competition against other boats, making the outcome particularly unpredictable. Her sister Jessica and mother Myriam followed the final from the bank before joining the celebration in the water. Noemie’s result gave the family another champion, while marking a distinct career and discipline within a sporting household closely associated with Penrith.
